“Increasing connections with neighbors, specially the Persian Gulf states, which believe in this policy, is the priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign diplomacy,” Sarmadi said in a meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Yousef bin Alawi in the Omani city of Salalah on Friday evening.
The deputy foreign minister pointed to the hostile measures that threaten the regional stability and security as unacceptable, and expressed the hope that the tactfulness and wisdom could stop this destructive trend.
Sarmadi expressed pleasure in superior Iran-Oman relations, and said, “The priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign diplomacy is boosting ties with neighbors, specially the Persian Gulf countries given the positive impacts of the two countries’ friendly relation on the regional peace and stability.”
The Omani foreign minister, for his part, voiced his pleasure in the two countries good relations, and said that the continuation of consultations between the two countries on regional issues is important.
Bin Alawi underlined that reducing tensions and boosting security and economic prosperity which is in the interest of the nations are among the most important priorities of the region.
The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Syria and Yemen, and the need for putting an end to violence and finding a political solution.
