During the meeting on Wednesday, Zarif and Muallem reviewed the political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries as well as major regional and international developments.
The Geneva II Conference and the latest regional and international developments concerning the humanitarian crisis in Syria were among the most significant topics discussed by the two officials.
Zarif was in Damascus as part of his regional tour which earlier took him to Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan.
