“The Iranian nation never considers WMDs as part of its national interests and this issue has no room in our defense doctrine,” Rouhani said in a ceremony held to praise Iranian researchers and scientists in Tehran on Monday.
He said Iran is not seeking to acquire WMDs not just because they are harmful to its “national interests, but also because they have no place in our religious views and beliefs and that's why we do not consider them as part of our national interests and defense doctrine,” he added.
