Russia says Iran’s presence in Geneva-II Conference necessary

 

 
 
The tripartite meeting was held in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday, during which Russian deputy foreign ministers Mikhail Bogdanov and Gennady Gatilov conferred with US Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and United Nations Special Envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi. 
 
 
 
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in its statement that in Geneva talks, Russia had called for formation of a committee composed of all Syrian dissident groups and stressed the need for participation of all influential regional countries such as Iran in Geneva-II Conference.
