Iran has made grave progresses in all economic, social and cultural fields, Rahimi said on Tuesday, adding "Nothing could ever block our way towards development."
He reiterated that without oil exports, the country will definitely find another way towards progress.
Late in January, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on that running the country without reliance on oil revenues is possible in case of cooperation, solidarity and a new approach to the use of crude, and added that the country is presently on the right path in this regard.
The president's remarks were made during the inauguration ceremony of the comprehensive plan of the oil industry research center and the unveiling of eight nanostructured products in Tehran at the time.
Stressing the need to adopt a new approach towards oil-oriented economy, Ahmadinejad said it was a must for the country to change its attitude of just digging up oil and then consuming the money earned by selling it.
He further added that it was an easy goal for the Iranian researchers to make the country an oil industry's technical hub.
Late in December while addressing inauguration ceremony of two petrochemical projects in Southern Iran, Ahmadinejad said, "Iranian nation should move toward the summits of glory and in this direction, we should be able to administer the country without reliance on oil revenues."
Ahmadinejad added that the two petrochemical projects inaugurated today indicate self-reliance, determination and hard working of the great Iranian nation.
"The ethylene produced at Kavian Petrochemical Plant will speed up the course of development in 13 provinces of the country by turning them to new products by complementary industries, which in turn will play a big role in development of the country," the president said.
He stated that the second phase of Kavian Petrochemical Plant would come online in near future resulting in rising ethylene production to two million tons per year.
"Determination, knowledge and hard work were three influential elements in launching this big project," Ahmadinejad noted, adding that all the phases of the project, including designing and implementation were the work of domestic experts.
Meantime, he said importing some equipment from abroad is not an imperfection "because making them inside the country is costly".
It is noteworthy that the lion's share of the parts and equipments are Iranian made, he reminded.
"Construction of a number of petrochemical plants are underway along the West Ethylene Pipeline path including Kermanshah Petrochemical Plant that has started production and Kordestan Petrochemical Complex which has made progress by 65 percent," he said.
According to the president, 9.500 billion rials have been spent in construction of West Ethylene Pipeline with eight boosting gas pressure stations along the line that will reach Tabriz city, Northeast of the country, after passing 2450 kilometers.
By developing complementary industries along the pipeline, there is the possibility to produce value added items, to curb selling raw materials, create more jobs and make more profits, he said.
Inviting people to invest in complementary industries, the president said it was necessary new industrial units to be built along the West Ethylene Pipeline, which will lead to making revenue, creating jobs and fair distribution of wealth.
Referring to planning for construction of two other pipelines in central and Eastern part of the country, Ahmadinejad noted that network of ethylene distribution should be spread across the country so that all Iranians to benefit from its advantages.
