Iran Becoming Gasoline Exporter

Rostam Qassemi made the remarks in a meeting with board of directors of the oil industry pension funds.

"Currently gasoline production capacity of the country is satisfactory and by launching ongoing development plans at domestic oil refineries, the country will change into a gasoline exporting country," he added.

Referring to ongoing projects at South Pars gas field, he said, "Gas production from the giant gas field will rise in near future so that the country will have a good spare capacity for exporting gas to the neighboring countries."

"Despite heavy pressures from abroad, Iran's oil industry is honor because it has not come to a halt and has succeeded to provide the country's need to financial resources," Qasemi said.

"We are determined not to allow oil exports to come to a halt even for a moment," Qasemi said, adding that foreign countries assumed Iran's oil industry would not survive, but oil industry's staff efforts not only led to leaving behind the problems but also oil industry projects are in a good condition in view of progress.

"Even though the country is involved in an economic war but fortunately we are glorious at the war because we could upset foreigners' plot to resort to oil as leverage."
