First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri opened the conference.
The conference, which was slated for March 5, is to review challenges and opportunities in line with knowledge-based oil industry.
Through seven special panels, the participants are to discuss oil, gas and petrochemical issues.
Also, the conference will hold three workshops to review ways of optimizing energy consumption.
