Tehran, Astana to boost banking ties

Speaking at a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Akishev Daniyar Talgatovich, Governor of Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif voiced satisfaction towards presence of the Central Asian country’s officials in Iran emphasizing the need to reinvigorate bilateral banking ties; “we hope the session would pave the path for further bolstering of banking ties between the two sides in line with the recently-signed MoU by Iranian and Kazakh presidents.”

The Iranian official welcomed the idea of deploying a delegation of Kazakh banks to Tehran in order to share experiences as well as to discuss venues for expansion of broker relations; “fortunately, the two countries enjoy a significant amount of trade turnover which can be exploited to boost banking collaborations in addition to the fact that the time is ripe to implement the agreements reached during previous negotiations.”

Seif pointed to the signing of an MoU on banking ties asserting “the Iranian government attach great importance to development of cooperation with neighboring countries as the removal of international sanctions has provided valuable opportunities for continues collaboration as well as for taking advantage of mutual experiences.”
