Leader says Iran holds optimistic view of Italy

The Leader made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

The problem with visits to Iran by European delegations is the fact that their results are not tangible and practical, he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that Iran welcomes expansion of all-out ties with Italy particularly in the field of economy.

Italy's behavior towards Iran was much more logical than other western states during the sanctions era, he noted.

The Leader called for execution of agreements reached between Iran and European states, adding that visits by some European countries and companies to Iran have not produced tangible results.

Some Iran partners are accusing US of causing trouble in the way of execution of cooperation agreements with Iran and this idea is acceptable because they are not bound to their own obligations enshrined in the nuclear deal, he added.
