According to Ali Pourali Motlagh, Secretary of Elections Headquarters, the Parliamentary runoff will be held in 56 constituencies across the country on 29 April.
In this round of elections, 138 candidates will compete for 69 seats in the Parliament.
Pourali Motlagh noted that the votes will be gradually inspected by the Guardian Council, adding the election results of 100 constituencies have been so far announced by the Council.
Iranians cast their votes for the 10th parliamentary and 5th Assembly of Experts elections on Feb. 26 with an overall turnout of 62 percent nationwide. As many as 4,844 candidates, including about 500 women, competed for a place in the 290-seat parliament, while a total of 159 candidates ran for the 88-member Assembly of Experts. Reformists have been able to send more candidates into the parliament and the Assembly of Experts compared to previous elections for the two institutions.
