Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad met and talked with his Iranian counterpart Morteza Sarmadi on Monday afternoon discussing the latest developments in Syria following the ceasefire as well as ongoing Geneva talks.
Iran’s Sarmadi appreciated the courageous resistance of the Syrian nation, government and army adding “the Syrian crisis was a plot which was prevented by the same audacious resistance.”
He pointed to the global developments in the transition period asserting “nowdays, one or a few countries would not be sole decision makers as the harmony among Iran, Syria and Russia indicated that global and regional movements can be intelligently led and managed.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry’s first deputy expressed hope towards sweet termination of the crisis; “we believe that the resistance brings about good achievements in favor of Syria as well as peace and stability in the region and the world.”
