Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari sent his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with the people and government of Ivory Coast over the deadly terrorist attack in the West African nation.
Jaberi Ansari further highlighted the need for the world’s united and all-out confrontation against terrorism.
At least 14 civilians and two Special Forces were killed when six armed men opened fire near several hotels in the Ivory Coast on Sunday. According to the government, security forces had killed the six assailants who attacked three hotels in the popular seaside town of Grand-Bassam.
Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) were reported to have claimed responsibility for the attack.
Turkish capital of Ankara was also attacked on Sunday in a car bomb that killed at least 34 people and wounded 125 others.
