Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Iran’s Minister of Oil Bijan Zanganeh pointed to the latest status of Setareh Khalije Fars Refinery explaining “the refinery possesses a refining capacity of 360 thousand barrels of gas condensate per day marking one of the largest condensate refineries in the world.”
He emphasized that a total of about 3.2 billion dollars have been invested in the project so far; “the first phase of Setareh Khalije Fars Refinery is expected to require about an additional 500 million dollars of investment.”
The official estimated that the first phase of the refinery project will become operational half way through the next Iranian calendar year asserting “moreover, the launch of a distillation unit by the end of the first half of next year will allow daily production of about 12 million liters of petrol with Euro 4 standard.”
“Phase one implementation will also make the country self-sufficient in production of petrol,” underlined the official stating “currently, the utility phase of the refinery has become operational which provides supply of water, electricity and steam in the first phase.”
