AIDS is one of the diseases which has emerged in public in 20th centaury. By the official statistics there are more than 100.000 people living with HIV (PLHIV) or entangled with AIDS in Iran that only less than 30.000 of then are recognized so far. A person living with HIV has no clinical symptom demonstrating his/her deficiency & appears just the same as other un-infected people.
If a PLHIV gets aware of HIV in his/her blood at the early stages of infection & receives standard medication, he/she can attain a life quality approximately the same as an un-infected person.
Timely diagnosis is an effective remedy to stop HIV/AIDS epidemic. Hence a PLHIV can have daily chores as well as the social activities exactly in the same manner as other people have in society. By receiving medication these people can get married & give birth to their healthy children. This fact is in spite of all wrong beliefs in the majority of society. The people not only have discriminative behavior towards PLHIV that fuels stigma, but also do not tend to undergo the systematic regular HIV test as a result of baseless fear.
