In the agreement outlined priority areas such as the prevention of communicable diseases, strengthening attention to mothers, children and the elderly and increasing the capacity to deal with emergencies and disasters.
Similarly, special attention to the strengthening of health infrastructure and the fight against disease or communicable diseases was ureged.
After the signing of the program, the Syrian Health Minister, Nizar Yaziji, gave a press conference and thanked the WHO technical support offered in recent years, especially during the current stage of war imposed on the country.
Yaziji also expressed the hope that such collaboration is maintained and developed to extend medical services to the population and contribute to the rehabilitation of the severely damaged sector by terrorist acts.
