President Rouhani of Iran and Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan talked through a phone call by Afghan official to congratulate his Iranian part on the implementation day of the JCPOA. Mr. Rouhani expressed, in return for felicitation remarks, his gratitude saying that Iran’s government had been, through the history, standing with Afghans and would even improve cooperation post-JCPOA; “Iran’s priority under new conditions after the implementation of JCPOA is widening of relations with neighbors and Afghanistan will have special place thank to many cultural and ethnic shared features with Iran,” Mr. Rouhani told in the phone call. “Through an accelerated pace of operationalization of Iran-Afghanistan Comprehensive Agreement, we will extend the scope of bilateral and hence, multilateral relations across the region.”
