The remark was made by Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan, Iran’s Minister of Defense, in a meeting with the National Security advisor of the Iraqi government, Faleh Fayyaz, in the Iranian capital on Sunday.
During the meeting, the Iranian minister extended his felicitations over the recent victories by Iraqi armed forced in liberating the city of Ramadi, and highlighted the support of the Islamic Republic’s government, nation and army in combating terrorism in Iraq.
General Dehghan deemed the unity among Shias, Sunnis and various religious and ethnic groups in Iraq in fighting terrorism a great achievement, stressing that the unity must continue with even more fervor until and even after a complete victory over ISIL has been achieved.
