Amir Abbas Hosseini, Deputy CEO of RIPI's Technology and International Relations, said it is for the very first time that the RIPI has planned to export engineering and design services to other countries, noting the major part of the new refinery will be constructed based on Iranian knowledge and technology.

Hosseini maintained that the RIPI, due to its past experiences as well as the client’s evaluation, has been chosen by a prominent Italian company in the third country as the project manager.

“The value of the agreement so far amounts to about 5 million dollars, $4m of which are allocated to engineering value and the rest to the technological knowledge of the project,” said Hosseini, while stressing that the most valuable aspect of the project is in fact the opportunity of exporting Iranian engineering services and technical knowledge to other countries.

“The agreement will pave the way for other activities,” said Hosseini, adding “the RIPI has held constructive negotiations with its partners and we are hoping good engineering services will be provided in these countries,” he said.
