“Claims made by the Riyadh officials regarding the involvement of some of the executed individuals in the terrorist activities are rather sarcastic there are lots of evidence and documents to support the fact that different individuals and groups of Saudi elites financially support the terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria,” Chandra Mozafar told IRNA.
Saudi Arabia claimed on Saturday to have executed 47 people due to what the Saudi officials called involvement in the terrorist activities.
Prominent Shia cleric Ayatollah Nimr Baqer al- Nimr was also among those executed.
“It seems as if terrorism has become an excuse for targeting those who oppose the Saudi Royal family,” said the analyst who is the head of the Global Justice Movement in Malaysia.
