He further noted that his country has proposed that the tension between Riyadh and Tehran be solved through OIC.
The tension escalated after Saudis executed Shia cleric Ayatollah Nimr, a human rights activist and critic of Saudi government, along with dozens. The Saudi move drew global protests.
Amid the tension, some lawless people caused damages to the Saudi missions in Tehran and Mashhad, who were detained by Iran's police. But Riyadh announced severance of ties with Iran, intensifying the tensions.
Indonesia is currently engaged in talks to end tension between Tehran and Riyadh and vice president has said that Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi has contacted with the Iranian and Saudi Arabia foreign ministers and exchanges views with secretary general of OIC in this respect.
Kalla further noted that his country has raised his demand for settlement of disputes through OIC, hoping that the conflict would soon be solved.
