
Coinciding with the soar in gas production capacity in South Pars field as well as in gas supply, the scope of the country’s largest underground gas storage reservoir has also experienced a twofold increase.
During the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (starting March 21, 2015), more than one billion and 114 million cubic meters of natural gas has been stored in Khorasan’s Shurijeh Facility as the largest underground reservoir in the Middle East which indicates a 93 per cent growth.
During the first 276 days of the current Iranian year which began on March 21, 2015, a total of 10 billion and 972 million cubic meters of natural was produced in north eastern reservoirs of the country, a major part of which has been stored in Shurijeh storage tank.
