IRNA reporter in Kuala Lumpur said that the two officials exchanged viewpoints on ways for cooperation in research and academic fields.
Ambassador Valiollah Mohammadi referred to Tehran-Jakarta longstanding relations and President Hassan Rouhani's visit to Indonesia in the spring or 2015, saying that the visit marked a turning point in bilateral ties.
He said that the visit of Iranian president to Jakarta led to satisfactory outcome in bilateral relations, the two countries' Joint Economic Commission convened and diplomatic shuttle of high ranking delegations gained momentum.
Elaborating on Iran's scientific achievements, especially in medical and health fields, Mohammadi expressed hope that keeping in mind the existing commonalties between the two countries and their leaders' resolute will for expansion of ties and cooperation, we will be witnesses to broad expansion of cooperation in health and medical fields.
The envoy meanwhile delivered the Iranian health minister's written invitation to his Indonesian counterpart for an official visit of Iran in the earliest convenience.
