He made the remarks in an interview with IRNA on the sidelines of International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran on Monday.
Speaking about the FICT, Vongsumitr said that all Shia and Sunni Muslims are working in the foundation in a brotherly way.
Referring to the 10 million Sunni and Shia Muslims living in Thailand, he added that despite some problems in the past, today they practice peaceful co-existence.
Understanding among Shia and Sunni Muslims in Thailand has increased, Vongsumitr said.
