The four-day-long event of the Fourth Korean Films Festival will kick off on Sunday at Tehran’s Mellat Cinematic complex with two theaters allocated to the filmfest.
Kim Yong-hwa’s Mr. Go (2013), Park Kwang-hyun’s Welcome to Dongmakgol (2005), Han Jae-rim’s The Face Reader (2013), and Kim Sung-ho’s How to Steal a Dog (2014) are the works to be displayed at the silver screen in Tehran.
All of the four internationally-acclaimed movies will be screened for free during the festival, which will run until December 30.
“We need to introduce South Korea to the Iranian nation, as the Iranian government lets more Iranian people be introduced to Korean people,” South Korean Ambassador Kim Seung-ho told the Iranian English paper, Tehran Times on Thursday.
Park Kwang-hyun is a 46 year old South Korean commercial and film director best known for co-writing and directing the 2005 critical and commercial hit Welcome to Dongmakgol.
