The head of Islamic Culture and Communications Organization hojjatoleslam Ebrahim Ebrahimi Torkaman and Leader’s office deputy for communications hojjatoleslam Mohsen Qomi arrived in Moscow on Friday (December 25) to inaugurate Moscow Islamic Center on the felicitious occasion of the Prophet’s birth anniversary. The ceremony was held by Leader’s representation office in Russia and Iran’s cultural attaché.
Ebarhimi Torkman believed that the lack of good understanding of the reality was the major contributor to and the root of extremism, violence, and xenophobia and the hate of others; “nations, religions, and denominations should know others; the opening of Moscow Islamic Center is an important step toward interfaith dialogue, communication and understanding of different religions in Russian Federation,” he told the ceremony. He expressed hopes that the Center would attend its duties which were ‘promote piety to God,’ and ‘promote Islamic teachings and ethics and symbiosis among different religions’ with participation and contributions of the thinkers and believers.
