Describing the rally as an opportunity to expand tourism and drawing international attention to environmental issues, Panhard promised to do his best to motivate the biggest automobile manufacturers to support GTO Company so that it can hold the event in the best manner, the English-language paper Iran Daily reported.
On his part, Iraji said that a number of Iranian organizations have expressed willingness to sponsor the event.
“The Golden Sponsor will be announced as soon as the list of sponsors is confirmed,” he said.
Iraji said the date and the route of the rally would be announced in due course.
Paris-Persepolis eco rally was first held in 1971.
