According to a Sunday report by the Syrian official news agency, SANA, the leader of the so-called Liwaa al-Nassr terror group, identified as Aqil Jumaa, and four of his fellow militants were killed in an army operation in an area in the northern countryside of the northwestern province of Latakia.
The Syrian air force also hit the hideouts of Daesh Takfiri terrorists in the countryside of the provinces of Homs and Aleppo.
The development comes after Syrian army soldiers stormed several militant hideouts in al-Borj al-Faransi area, al-Qazghadar Mountain and al-Azar Mountain in Latakia on December 11, eliminating a number of Takfiri terrorists and their vehicles.
A commander of the terrorist Ahrar al-Sham group was also killed following intense clashes with Syrian government troops in the Jisrin village in Eastern Ghouta region near the capital, Damascus.
