“The work is my latest cinematic production which has been invited to several foreign film festivals. Attending the 51st Chicago International Film Festival, the flick is now participating in the ‘World Cinema’ section of The International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) which kicked off on Friday. Moreover Hadi Mohaghegh’s Immortal is attending the festival’s ‘International Competition’ section”, Barzegar said.
He added “two years ago my film Parviz won the Golden Crow Pheasant Award for the Best Film at the 18th (IFFK).”
A Very Ordinary Citizen tells the story of Mr. Safari, an 80-year-old retiree, who lives alone in Tehran and wants to visit his son living abroad. Mr. Safari becomes dangerously obsessed with a local female travel agent who is hired for help.
The 2015 IFFK is screening about 180 Indian and international films, including several award-winners and Oscar nominees. The event will wrap up on December 11.
