According to Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC), the application of the sensor decreases the cost to detect toxic materials, including arsenic in test samples. In addition, the sensor analyzes the characteristics of chemicals faster than the conventional methods.
The application of polymers cast with arsenic ion in the production of potentiometric sensor results in the production of a sensor with high selectivity and appropriate detection limit to sense arsenic. A major problem in the application of these sensors is the low lifetime of membrane electrodes due to the diffusion of water into the membrane structure, and the damage to the membrane structure. Therefore, efforts have been made in this research to overcome this problem.
