The ceremony was held at Supreme Leader's Tehran residence.
During the ceremony, Hojjatoleslam Hossein Panahian delivered a speech on Imam Hussein (AS)'s uprising against oppression.
He praised those pilgrims who have travelled to Karbala on foot, saying Arbaeen is a call of God's blessings for good people.
The reason behind the arrogant powers' enmity against Arbaeen is its great power to save humans, Panahian said.
At the end of the ceremony, the university students said their prayers led by Ayatollah Khamenei.
