
Liyakat Takim, Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Denver, emphasized on the significance of mosques in the Islamic culture and stressed the traditional roles of mosques since the early years of Islam.
In an interview with offical website of Council for Mosques Affairs in Iran, he described mosques as the place for regular gathering of all Muslims and said, “they are indeed significant places since they awaken Muslims and remind their social and political duties”.
The senior researcher of McMaster University added that mosques, as a social medium, can inform Muslims about what is happening in the world and asserted that they could show the right path to us to fight against injustice.
