Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani made the remark in in a phone conversation with the Speaker of Turkey’s Grand Assembly İsmail Kahraman on Tuesday.
While extending congratulations over Kahraman’s recent appointment as Turkey’s parliament speaker, Larijani maintained that Iran and Turkey have enjoyed good and close ties in the past recent years in various fields of politics, economy, parliamentary and regional cooperation.
The Iranian senior official wished success and prosperity for his Turkish counterpart and extended the Islamic Republic’s invitation to him for an official visit to Iran.
Kahraman, for his part, said the Islamic Republic as a major country with rich civilization has an effective role in expanding friendly relations between the two countries, as well as helping to maintain peace and stability in the region.
