Lifting sanctions opens new chapter for Tehran-Bangkok cooperation

Thai Deputy Minister of Commerce Suvit Maesin Cee said on Sunday that visit of 75-member Thai delegation to Tehran aims to explore avenues for opening new chapter in Tehran-Bangkok cooperation after lifting of Western sanctions on Iran.

He said that Iran's 80 million population and Thailand's 70 million population provide a ground for creating a strong market for trade exchanges. 
Relations between Iran, as the focal point for connection with CIS countries, and Thailand, as the center for access to ASEAN countries, are of special significance, the official said. 
He said that his country needs Iran's energy and on the other hand, Thailand can be supplier of food to Iran. 
Thai deputy prime minister plans to visit Tehran in the next two months, he said, adding that Bangkok government is willing to broaden cooperation with Tehran as a strategic and important step.
