A top Iranian Navy commander said on Sunday that Iranˈs naval forces have successfully rescued an Indian oil tanker surrendered by pirates on the Red Sea.
Deputy Operation Commander of the Iranian Navy Rear Admiral Siavash Jarreh said that the Indian tanker, Jok Lok, was heading towards the Suez Canal through the Red Sea when it was attacked by armed pirates riding in speedboats.
