The agreement, which was signed following a conference organized by the Association France Palestine Solidarity (AFPS) in Paris, discussed the Israeli settlement activities and their effect on economic, political and social life in Palestine.
Palestinian Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Safa' Naser Addin, who attended the conference, spoke of the economic consequences of the settlement activities and called on world unions to support this campaign, which opposes a France Telecom- Orange agreement.
Naseruddin said the telecommunication sector's losses amount to $150 million as a result to five Israeli companies illegally operating in the Palestinian Territory, preventing entry of advanced technology and crippling infrastructure.
The campaign aims to pressure France Telecom into not renewing its contract with the Israeli company, which provides services to settlements and supports occupation of Palestine.
