Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs held talks with Czech Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Martin Tlapa in Tehran on Sunday and conferred on regional developments, particularly in Syria.
Amir-Abdollahian reaffirmed Iran’s support for putting an end to the conflicts in Syria and the process of political talks in Geneva, adding “armed terrorist groups have committed many instances of ceasefire violations in recent weeks, and the international community must show more determination in throwing its weight behind the anti-terrorism campaign.”
The Iranian diplomat further referred to his positive talks with UN Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura in Tehran last week, which were focused on issues of ceasefire, political process and humanitarian aid, adding “Iran has reaffirmed its readiness to cooperate with the UN in expediting the aid process and advancing the peace talks.”
