Speaking on the phone to the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili on Monday, President Rouhani called for the expansion of Tehran-Tbilisi economic and cultural ties, saying that the cooperation must be strengthened in favor of national interests of both nations.
Pointing to the activation of Iran-Georgia joint economic commission, Rouhani underlined the importance of potentials and oppportunies for cooperation between the two countries.
He also welcomed the implementation of agreements already signed, saying the removal of visa requirements can help further Tehran-Tbilisi cooperation.
Rouhani said that Georgia can be the corridor for Iran's transactions with the Black Sea littoral states, adding, “common geographical location and extensive facilities, have provided rich opportunities for multilateral cooperation between Iran and Georgia."
