The meeting, held between Iran’s Ali Tayebnia and Azerbaijan’s Shahin Mustafayev, was on the vision for economic cooperation including expanding bilateral banking, trade and transportation ties.
Referring to the emphasis of President Rouhani on expanding economic relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tayebnia said that Iran is keen to speed up ties and the results of the ongoing negotiations should soon come into effect.
“In order to enhance trade relations, the transportation system should develop for which Iran is interested to join the railway system of Azerbaijan”, he added.
The Iranian minister said that presenting 24/7 customs service by both the countries is the first and most significant step for boosting trade relations. Expansion of bilateral trade ties will indeed have a positive effect on third countries including Russia and Georgia.
