Signed by Ali Jannati and Vladimir Medinsky in a ceremony attended by Iran's Ambassador to Iran, Mehdi Sanaei, the deal will help promote cultural ties between the two countries.
The agreement which includes artiles on boosting cultural cooperation in different areas such as cinema and exchanging cultural and arts delegations will serve as a roadmap for cooperation between the two ministries within the next three years.
During the meeting which took place on the sidelines of the Fourth St. Petersburg International Cultural Conference, Jannati referred to rapid development of mutual ties in recent years and the resolve of the two countries' leaders to further enhance cooperation in all fields, underlining the significance of cultural ties.
The two countries' mutual participation in each other's book fairs and holding nine rounds of religious negotiations by Iran and Russian Orthodox Church are examples of continuation of cultural cooperation between the two countries in all fields, he said.
