The 17th regular and extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) began on Saturday morning in Tehran headed by Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh, one of the main objectives being the selection of a new secretary general or extension of the current Iranian Secretary General's activity.
Accordingly, in time with the re-nomination of the current Secretary General of GECF Mohammad Hossein Adeli, Libya has also announced readiness to take over the key position in the forum while the officials at Iran's Ministry of Oil are optimistic about Adeli to remain in the seat.
