Reza Jafarzadeh, the Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization public relations office, asserted “Agence France-Presse (AFP) has released articles on the rising trend of French travellers visiting Iran’s historical and recreational sites.”
“Qeshm and Kish Islands as well as cities like Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Ardebil, Yazd, Kashan, Hamadan, Tabriz, Rasht, Gorgan and the ancient city of Susa mark the main destinations for French tourists,” underlined the official.
Jafarzadeh stated that Air France plane trips to Iran had been halted since 2008; “accordingly, scheduled flights of Air France will be resumed as of Sunday April 17 with four flights per week.”
He noted that the first plane will arrive in Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) on Sunday at 20:20 local time.
