In a meeting between an Italian delegation comprising of a number of Italian bankers and the Governor of Central Bank of Iran Valliollah Seif, participants stressed the importance of bolstering banking relations between the two countries and said Iranian and Italian banks are to restart interaction.
The CBI chief stressed promotion of trade relations between the two countries as an outcome of mutual banking cooperation.
Noting that the visit of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Italy early this year was a positive achievement, he hoped for more cooperation between banking sectors of the two countries.
According to Seif, a letter of agreement has been drafted between central banks of the two countries which is to be signed on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund.
