During a ceremony attended by a deputy of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Ghahraman Soleimani, Qorbanali Edrisov was introduced as the new director of the center.
The Iranian official referred to the important and history of Iran studies in Russia and voiced the readiness of his organization to render aid to the center in conducting Iran studies.
Iranian Embassy’s Cultural Attaché Reza Maleki too hoped the center would succeed in its mission of promoting bilateral cooperation between scientific and research centers in the area of Iran studies.
The International Center for Iran Studies was first established in Moscow in 2007 with the objective of expanding Iran studies in Russia and Russian-speaking communities.
It had been inactive for the past three months.
