During the Thursday closing event, 8 works, mostly by young writers participated in 7 categories, earned the statue as well as the cash prize. Five other writers also received the citation award.
Being held by the City’s Hamshahri Institute along with Tehran University, the 2nd edition of annual Tehran Story Award prepared the ground for 1,361 amateur and young talents along with well-known writers to take part in capturing Tehran’s image and cultural affection in 5,000 words short stories.
“What is helping [the image of] cities to linger and resulting in the devotion of these cities’ inhabitants, are the images of these cities that writers and artists have captured in their works,” said the secretary of the award, Mina Farshidnik, according to tehran.ir.
Along with the Main Section of the award, writers awarded in other 6 categories including ‘Tehran, the City of Empathy’, ‘Tehran University’, ‘Tehran’s Bazaar’, and ‘White Line’.
