Addressing a meeting on how to attend Oman Trade Exhibition in Bandar Abbas Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Trade Promotion Organization Director General for Arab-African Department Farzad Piltan referred to the special position of Oman and the Musandam Governorate and said “contrary to what it might seem, Oman is a rich country with a per capita income of 40 thousand dollars with a purchasing power four times that of Iranians.”
“According to the previous agreement signed in this regard and despite the problems residing in the MoU, we offer the necessary support to hold the exhibition preserving the dignity of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added.
Piltan maintained that the economic exchanges between the two countries have shown a growing trend adding “each country’s turnover has been 400 million dollars and the six-month statistics indicate a 12 per cent growth in Iran’s exports to Oman.”
