Malaria still kills over half a million people annually - UN chief

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in his message on World Malaria Day, April 25, 2014 while saying that malaria still kills more than half a million people every year called for collective commitment to combat malaria.

 

 
 
According to a press release issued by the UN Information Center (UNIC) on Wednesday, the full text of his message reads:
 
 
 
ˈWorld Malaria Day is an opportunity to celebrate the fact that the world is on track to meet the global Millennium Development Goal target of reversing the incidence of malaria.
