Iran to become a major transit route in region

Iran aims to become a major transit route in region, Deputy Managing Director of Iranˈs Railway, Hossein Ashouri said on Wednesday.

 

 
 
Speaking to IRNA, he noted that Iran is keen to increase its share of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) annual transit capacity.
 
 
 
ˈSome 460 million tons of goods are transited among ECO member states while Tehran is determined to boost its share by developing its railroads,ˈ Ashouri underlined.
