Syria in the Last 24 Hours: Military Chief of US-Backed Rebel Group Fired

The US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) dismissed its ringleader Salim Idris and replaced him with Abdullah al-Bashir amid growing infighting with other terrorist groups deployed in Syria.

 

 
Salim Idris, the ringleader of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), fled into Turkey and flew to Doha, Qatar in December after other terrorist groups present in Syria took over his headquarters and warehouses of US-provided military gear along the border between Turkey and Syria.
 
Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army entered Beit Sahm, Bibila, Yalda in the area of Sayyeda Zainab in Southern Damascus as a reconciliation agreement was enforced.
 
In the Northern province of Aleppo, the Syrian army clashed fiercely with the Al-Nusra Front militants in the area of Sheikh Yousuf Hill.
