On a decision reached in a meeting with Amir Ghalenoei, Iranian football coach and former player, Nekounam will join the prestigious Qatari sports club.
Ali Nazari Jouybari, the acting head of Esteghlal Athletic Club, said 20 percent of the cash for Nekounam transfer to the Qatari club will be deposited to Esteghlal account.
He said the meeting which led to the decision was in a warm and friendly atmosphere to remove misunderstanding.
