Iranian political, cultural figures protest to UN chief against US medicine sanctions on Iran

Some 2,400 well-known Iranian political and cultural figures have signed a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, as part of a ˈpopular protestˈ to complain about medicine sanctions on Iran which created humanitarian disaster taking tolls on patients. They questioned the logic behind such unwise measures taken by the US administration.

 

 
Former president Mohammad Khatami, Fatemeh Hashemi Rafsanjani, head of the Charity Foundation for Special Diseases and the older daughter of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of the Expediency Council, veteran actors Ezzatollah Entezami and Reza Kianian, Oscar-winning director Asghar Farhadi, another well-known director Abbas Kiarostami, Managing Director of Iranˈs Hemophilia Society Ahmad Qavidel and Alireza Zali Head of Iranˈs Medical Council Organization are among the signatories.
